WHO WE ARE

Mike & Mark ‘The dynamic Duo’ are the managers of U12’s Blues, 20/21 season.

Mike has been a coach with MBJFC and this Blues team since they played at 5-a-side, and Mark joined a year or so after to double the strength of this potent team!

Mike played to a decent standard as a youth, and also coached for a number of years in his youth and fell in love with coaching again at MBJFC. He also acts of the Head of Age Group at this level.

Marks first foray into football coaching has been through Moss Bank, not that you’d know it with his attention to detail, enthusiasm and support for the players and team.

Mike and Marks skills complement each-other as seen on and off the field. they both have FA manager Level 1, completed in the snow on one of the coldest January’s on record!

HOW WE COACH

These coaches work great in tandem or on2one, they often mix sessions to ensure a variety of drills and skills are covered. The aim is to ensure the coaching sessions are beneficial to the players but that most importantly they have FUN! The coaching is broken down into blocks made up of weeks with certain football tactics, skills and topics covered in each block. the coaching continues on matchday as the players are set challenges pre-game to help them develop themselves in the game situation.

Effort is rewarded and praised as much as anything else on this team. The 4 key principles in line with the fa guidance is attitude, skills, doing and thinking, this is in line with a coaching ethos of Plan- Review- Do which the guys repeat throughout the season.

HOW WE PLAY

The dynamic duo are all about The Player and ensuring those players have fun, make friends, learn and grow! Winning is a fantastic by product but the development and growth of the players is what drives these coaches.

Whether training or on a match day they will endeavour to maximise the enjoyment for every participant on all teams.

This is a fair and honest team and whilst they want to play hard and try their best – football is played to the best talents available and with integrity.

HOW WE SUPPORT

Mike and Mark are always open to support the player and their families, the team is also at the heart of this group. As such the ‘blues’ has become a family unit. this unit supports the players in every way and as one! There are no individuals and win lose or draw it is done as a team. many of these players have played as a team for a number of years and developed fantastic strong friendships off the field too. Mike and Mark try to encourage this team ethos wherever possible to help support the player.

The Dynamic duo also follow the FA 4 corner model, focusing on Technical, Psychological, Physical and Social, this is a team and group who work hard together and play hard together, as seen at their annual summer or winter meals!

The Players

The Players make this team not the coaches, the ones on this team are AWESOME – CAPITAL A. A fine group of industrious, fun and committed individuals. there love of the game of football varies, however the desire to try and work for this team is unquestiuonable. Both coaches often comment on the exemplary behaviour of the players and even though they have finished runners up several times in cup competitions the players have always shown class. A fine group of young individuals making an EPIC team

The blues as a whole have enjoyed the challenge of 9v9 together last season & are now looking forward to the BBDFL 20/21 season !

With committed players & fantastic parental and family support we are sure the blues will have another enjoyable season

WORDS FROM THE HOAG (MIKE THOMPSON)

Welcome to the u12 age group page, school year 7 Sept 2020.

This is our little area of grassroots football in Bolton and Bury.

Like many grassroots teams and clubs we have a variety of skill level across our Moss Bank JFC u12 group. We currently have two teams who consistently play at a mid-high level in our blues and greens. Both these teams have a core of children who have been playing grassroots football in Bolton for Moss Bank since a young age, showing how we take children into our care hoping for a long term development not just a quick experience.

This age group has continued to grow in player numbers over time. We have an additional team also, our Whites, who have a fantastic team ethos and spirit and who’s players work hard – week in and week out.

Moss Bank JFC and this age group ethos has always been to welcome any player irrespective of ability or experience, we are sure we can find a home for all players at our u12 age group.

Moss Bank JFC and our Head Of Age Group Mike Thompson are aligned in the belief that anyone of any ability or experience should be able to participate and play football we do this by providing our coaches with as much training and support as possible, developing suitable training sessions appropriate for the player.

To know more about our teams please visit the individual team pages and read about the managers involved.

This great set of coaches is within a club that has what we believe are ‘exceptional’ grassroots facilities.

At our Home HQ Leasing Options Pavilion we have a great 9v9 pitch ideal for u12 grassroots, in addition to this adjacent to the site is the HARRISON’S Captains Clough 9v9 pitch also. MBJFC has additionally invested in taking a lease and investing in upkeep on another nearby grassroots football facility, which will also provide 9v9 pitches on site!

Not many grassroots football clubs can boast the number and definitely not the quality of pitches we have at our disposal.

A testament to the club and its re-investment in the needs of our players.

As the under 12s enter the 2020/21 season they are stepping up to a ‘competitive’ level of football for the first time with all games counting for points in the assigned LEAGUE section. All three of our teams are playing in the BBDFL grassroots football league this season and we wish them all the best of luck.

Finally we hope any new visitors looking for a grassroots u12 teams are interested contact the club or HOAG Mike Thompson as we will be moving to 11 a side football for the following season and as always will welcome any new players to the club.

ENJOY YOUR FOOTBALL!
