CLUB ANNOUNCEMENT

Sadly on Monday the 23rd December 2019 our “Super Proud Chairman” Gary Russell tragically and suddenly passed away. Our thoughts and prayers go out to Joanne, Grace and Lucas and friends and family at this sad time. Gary was a massive part of Moss Bank JFC and he loved the club with passion. Only on Thursday we filmed the Christmas message to the club and he spoke of a fantastic year and a better 2020 for the club going forward. We cannot let this legacy pass us by and we have to finish what Gary started with lots of new projects. Gary would have wanted this. We as a club are all devastated and its hard to re-focus given the suddenness of his death. Gary would want us to put our members and children first, he would want us to celebrate Christmas and the New Year as the Moss Bank JFC family. Whilst its been hard we are inspired by Gary’s determination and passion for our great club. The tributes and comments have been overwhelming. This shows want a great man he was. Gary was a very generous man who supported charities, local people and of course our club. He was a fantastic ambassador for local grassroots football and served the Bolton Bury District Football League as both Chairman and Secretary over the years. He stepped down from these roles to continue his passion for Moss Bank. We must never forget Gary and we will be opening a book of condolences after the New Year at the clubhouse. The place will never be the same again and we will miss him stood at the top of the hill in front of the clubhouse with his brew and bacon barm whilst looking across all the pitches and kids playing football. We will miss him walking around the place and watching games talking to kids, coaches and parents.. We will miss his banter, humour and football discussions. We will miss his leadership and direction. Gary we salute you. RIP GARY RUSSELL – ALWAYS OUR PROUD CHAIRMAN.
